AKG C 414 XLS 9-Pattern Condenser Microphone
The AKG C 414 XLS 9-Pattern condenser microphone features many of the same qualities of the world famous AKG C 414 B-TL II. The C 414 XLS has the remarkable ability to record solo instruments and lead vocals in such a way that they are able to be placed even in the densest of mixes. In this way it has much in common with the celebrated AKG C12. The superior quality of sound that the C 414 XLS is able to produce makes this microphone just as well known for its distance applications as for its close miking of solo and lead instruments. The C 414 XLS can easily be used for ensemble and drum set situations.
This latest model is the newest in a long line of C 414 microphones having been in production since 1971. As it states in the name, the C 414 XLS allows the user to choose between nine miking patterns. This increases the versatility of the microphone’s possible applications. The C 414 XLS uses the latest technology to create an amazingly short signal path and protection from the elements, especially moisture. It has a dynamic range of 152 dB.
